[FR] En 1987, une nouvelle ligne de recherche sur l'architecture islamique fondée sur l'utilisation de la documentation métrique rigoureuse a démarré à l'École d'Études Arabes (Escuela de Estudios Árabes, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) de Grenade. À cet effet, une équipe de photogrammétrie a été mise en place avec le matériel et le personnel adéquat.

High precision photogrammetry for monitoring the evolution of the NW flank of Stromboli volcano during and after the 2002–2003 eruption

High precision aerial photogrammetry has been
used in addition to other geophysical techniques such as
bathymetric surveys, geodetic measurements, microseismicity
recording, etc., for monitoring slope deformations
and the volcanic activity of Stromboli Island (Aeolian Arc,
Italy), during the last effusive eruption, which started on
December 28, 2002 and soon after the major landslide/
tsunami event of December 30.

Recording aboriginal rock art using cheap digital cameras and digital photogrammetry

Archaeologists, conservators and rock-site managers need simple and cost effective methods to record and document rock art,
including both petroglyphs and pictographs. Combined laser scanning and photogrammetry can be effective but equipment remains
expensive, is difficult to transport into the field and requires some expertise to use successfully during data capture. What is required
is the development of a methodology that enables the inexpert, perhaps volunteer, field worker to acquire imagery suitable for
photogrammetric measurement using cost effective digital sensors.

Monitoring river channel change using terrestial oblique digital imagery and automated digital photogrammetry

Imagery acquired using a high-resolution digital camera and ground survey has been used to
monitor changes in bed topography and plan form, and to obtain synoptic water surface and flow
depth information in the braided, gravel bed Sunwapta River in the Canadian Rockies. Digital
images were obtained during daily low flows during the summer melt-water season to maximize
the exposed bed area and to map the water surface on the days with the highest flows.

Historical aerial photographs and digital photogrammetry for landslide assessment

This study demonstrates the value of historical aerial photographs as a source for
monitoring long-term landslide evolution, which can be unlocked by using appropriate
photogrammetric methods.
The understanding of landslide mechanisms requires extensive data records; a
literature review identified quantitative data on surface movements as a key element
for their analysis. It is generally acknowledged that, owing to the flexibility and high
degree of automation of modern digital photogrammetric techniques, it is possible to
derive detailed quantitative data from aerial photographs.

Digital elevation models for landslide evolution monitoring: application on two areas located in the Reno River Valley (Italy)

GPS, digital photogrammetry and laser scanning techniques have been applied and compared in the frame of the studies of two complex landslides located in the Emilia-Romagna Region (Northern Italy). The three approaches, characterized by different accuracies, applicability and costs, have demonstrated to be efficient tools to define
Digital Elevation Models computed in the same reference system and able to provide data on the landslide motion. The results described in the paper indicate the present low level of landslide activity in recent years.

2002–2003 Lava Flow Eruption of Stromboli: A Contribution to Understanding Lava Discharge Mechanisms Using Periodic Digital Photogrammetry Surveys

Photogrammetric surveys were performed between 5 January and 26 July 2003 for monitoring the NW flank of the Sciara del Fuoco (SdF) during the eruption of Stromboli that started on 28 December 2002. The collected data were used both for controlling morphological changes after the major landslide that occurred on 30 December 2002 and lava flow field evolution until the end of the eruption (22 July 2003).

Integration of ground-based laser scanner and aerial digital photogrammetry for topographic modelling

This work deals with the integration of different surveying methodologies for the definition of very accurate Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and/or Digital Surface Models (DSM): in particular, the aerial digital photogrammetry and the terrestrial laser scanning were used to survey the Vesuvio volcano, allowing the total coverage of the internal cone and surroundings (the whole surveyed area was about 3 km×3 km). The possibility to reach a very high precision, especially from the laser scanner data set, allowed a detailed description of the morphology of the volcano.

Automated DEM extraction in digital aerial photogrammetry: precisions and validation for mass movement monitoring

Automated procedures for photogrammetric image processing and Digital Elevation Models (DEM) extraction
yield high precision terrain models in a short time, reducing manual editing; their accuracy is strictly related to
image quality and terrain features. After an analysis of the performance of the Digital Photogrammetric Workstation
(DPW) 770 Helava, the paper compares DEMs derived from different surveys and registered in the same
reference system.

Global Positioning Systems and digital photogrammetry for the monitoring of mass movements:application to the Ca’ di Malta landslide (northern Apennines, Italy)

Abstract
A combination of digital photogrammetry and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) surveying has been used to measure
landslide surface displacements and to estimate the volume involved in the movement. Ninety-eight percent of landslides
mapped as active in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy are reactivations of dormant mass movements. The Ca’ di
Malta landslide, south of Bologna, was chosen to test this integrated system.
